Carnival activities in Valletta this Saturday and Sunday

Festivals Malta together with the Organisational Carnival Committee would like to notify the general public that the Carnival activities will be held during next weekend. The Children’s Carnival will take place on Saturday 17 February at 9:30am in St George’s Square, Valletta. The tickets cost €5, with a limited number of VIP tickets costing €10. Soon after, another activity will take place at 3:30pm, which includes dances and a float defile. The tickets cost €7 and VIP tickets cost €15. On Sunday 18 February the Gran Defilé will take place in St Anne’s Street, Floriana from 2pm onwards.

Festivals Malta announces that the submitted votes with regards the competitions of the Carnival of Malta will be opened next Monday, 19 February and the competition results will be announced later on in the afternoon.

Whoever bought a Carnival ticket and did not use it will be contacted by www.ticketline.com.mt for a refund. Therefore new tickets must be bought for this weekend’s Carnival activities which are against payment. New tickets can be bought online from http://www.ticketline.com.mt or the Embassy Cinemas, Valletta as from today Thursday 15 February.

Xrar is an artistic project developed by ĠF Abela Junior College and Troupe 18:45 under the curation of Dr Trevor Borg.  The project is divided in two parts: Contemporary Inside 2018 Exhibition and a Visual Arts Expo for Young Artists at the Junior College campus.  The project is supported by the Premju tal-President għall-Kreattività 2017.

Malta M&IT supplement wins Silver Award

The Malta Tourism Authority has won the silver award in the Best Brochure Category (Print & Digital) at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) 2017, which took place recently at The Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London. The other finalists for the Best Brochure category were Bath’s Historic Venues, Cape Town International Convention Centre, Quebec City Convention Centre and Villiers.

The Maltese Islands will be featured on various episodes of the popular programme ‘Melaverde’ broadcast on Canale 5 every Sunday. Now in its 20th season, ‘Melaverde’ attracts an average audience of 2 million viewers and a share of 13.5%.

The Maltese Islands boasts of 12 Blue Flag Beaches

The Malta Tourism Authority welcomes with satisfaction the announcement by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in which twelve beaches in Malta and Gozo were awarded the coveted Blue Flag status for this year.
