An impressive 66.4% growth in Cruise Passenger Traffic in Q2 2015 when compared to same period in 2014

Cruise passenger statistics published today for the period April – June 2015 show a very healthy growth of 66.4% when compared to the same period last year. The number of cruise liners calling in the Maltese Islands also grew from 89 calls in April to June 2014 to 108 calls in the same period this year.

This excellent performance in the second quarter of the year results in a cumulative 39.9% increase for the first 6 months of year when compared to January to June 2014.

The number of inbound tourists to Malta in April 2015 was 151,924, an increase of 2.5% when compared to April 2014, according to statistics released today by the National Statistics Office. Tourists spent €119.1 million, representing an increase of 3.8% or €4.4 million more over April 2014. Nights stayed by tourists during April 2015 feature a minor decline due to the slight drop of 0.2 nights in average length of stay.
